महिषासुर मर्दिनी की कथा (Goddess Durga and Mahishasura)

हिंदू धार्मिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार महिषासुर एक राक्षस था। वह ब्रह्मा,ऋषि कश्यप और दनु का पोता, साथ ही रंभा का पुत्र और महिषी (buffalo/ भैंस) का भाई था। लोग उसे एक बेईमान दानव के रूप में मानते हैं जो भयानक काम करने के लिए अपना आकार बदल सकता है।

उसका विनाश देवी पार्वती ने किया, जिन्हें महिषासुरमर्दिनी (मर्दिनी – मारने वाली ") कहा जाता है। नवरात्रि त्योहार महिषासुर और देवी दुर्गा के बीच संघर्ष का प्रतीक है, जिसका समापन विजया दशमी पर होता है, जो इसके समापन का उत्सव है। "बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत" की यह कहानी हिंदू धर्म में विशेष रूप से शाक्त संप्रदाय में महान प्रतीकात्मकता है, और कई दक्षिण भारतीय और दक्षिण पूर्व एशियाई हिंदू मंदिरों में देवी महात्म्य को सुनाई और पुन: प्रस्तुत की गई है।

महिषासुर सृष्टिकर्ता ब्रह्मा का एक वफादार अनुयायी था, और ब्रह्मा जी ने उसे आशीर्वाद दिया कि न तो कोई देवता और न ही कोई दानव उसे कभी हरा सकता है।

बाद में, महिषासुर ने स्वर्गीय क्षेत्र के देवताओं को परेशान करना और पृथ्वी पर भी परेशानी का कारण बनना शुरू कर दिया। एक बार, उसने स्वर्ग पर एक अप्रत्याशित हमला किया, इंद्र को हराया, स्वर्गलोक पर अधिकार कर लिया और सभी देवताओं को बाहर निकाल दिया। परेशान होने के बाद, देवगणों ने त्रिमूर्ति ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और महेश से मदद मांगी। सभी देवताओं के संयुक्त प्रयासों के बावजूद उन्हें एक बार फिर पीटा गया। 

अंतत: देवो ने उपाय खोजा और मां दुर्गा का सृजन किया, जिन्हे शक्ति और पार्वती के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। महिषासुर पर देवी दुर्गा ने आक्रमण किया ,नौ दिनों तक युद्ध चला और दसवें दिन महिषासुर का वध हुआ। हिंदू अनुयायी विजयदशमी मनाते हैं, जो इस वर्षगांठ पर दस दिवसीय दुर्गा पूजा उत्सव के दसवें दिन मनाई जाती है।

  नवरात्र और विजयादशमी बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत का अतुल्य प्रतीक है। 

According to Hindu religious beliefs, Mahishasura was a demon. He was the grandson of Brahma, sage Kashyapa and Danu, as well as the son of Rambha and brother of Mahishi (buffalo/buffalo). People regard him as an unscrupulous demon who can change his shape to do terrible things. She was destroyed by Goddess Parvati, known as Mahishasuramardini ("Mardini - the killer"). This story of "the victory of good" is of great symbolism in Hinduism, especially in the Shakta sect, and is narrated and reproduced in many South Indian and Southeast Asian Hindu temples to the goddess Mahatmya.

Mahishasura was a loyal follower of the creator Brahma, and Brahma Ji blessed him that neither a deity nor a demon could ever defeat him.

Later, Mahishasura started harassing the deities of the heavenly realm and causing trouble on earth as well. Once, he made an unexpected attack on the heavens, defeated Indra, took over the heavens and drove out all the gods. After getting upset, the gods sought help from the trinity Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Despite the combined efforts of all the gods, he was once again beaten up.

Ultimately the gods found the solution and created Maa Durga, also known as Shakti and Parvati. Mahishasura was attacked by Goddess Durga, the war went on for nine days and on the tenth day Mahishasura was killed. Hindu followers celebrate Vijayadashmi, the tenth day of the ten-day Durga Puja festival, on this anniversary. Navratri and Vijayadashami is an incomparable symbol of the victory of good over evil.
